The beaches of Tróia have once again been recognised with the Blue Flag award, an international distinction granted by the Blue Flag Association for Environmental Education, certifying compliance with demanding standards of environmental quality, safety, services and beach management.
In 2026, the beaches Atlântica, Tróia – Mar, Bico das Lulas, Galé, as well as Marina de Tróia, were once again awarded this distinction, reinforcing the recognition of the Tróia Peninsula as a benchmark coastal destination defined by quality and sustainability.
The attribution of this award results from the assessment of several indicators, namely bathing water quality, environmental management, accessibility, safety, information and environmental education, reflecting the continuous commitment to the preservation and enhancement of the natural and coastal heritage.
The renewal of these distinctions is particularly significant in a context of increasing appreciation and demand for coastal territories, representing recognition of the work carried out by the entities involved in the management, maintenance and qualification of the region’s beaches.
